July 3, the Passionist Community, together with other organizations, joyfully planted 200 Avicennia marina (bungalon) mangrove trees as part of the A Thousand Forests Campaign.

The activity began with a prayer, followed by an orientation led by Mr. Rainier Tampus from the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) – GenSan.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our PSAC workers from Holy Cross Parish, Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage Parish, and St. Gabriel of Our Lady of Sorrows Parish. We also thank the Passionist Youth, Catholic Mission to the Indigenous People (CMIP), Barangay LGU - Baluan, City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) – GenSan, Lower Baluan Fisherfolk Association, Calumpang Youth for Empowerment (CALYE), and Turtle Pace Runners.

Special thanks as well to the Protected Area Management Office - Sarangani Bay Protected Seascape (PAMO-SBPS), headed by PASu Cirilo A. Lagnason, Jr., for sponsoring the pamainit.

See you again at our next mangrove tree-growing activity!

Tara na! Mananom nata!
