May 14-15, the Passionist PDO team, along with Rev. Fr. Orven O. Gonzaga, CP, the PPDO Executive Director, and our Passionist PDO Volunteers climbed to the scenic view of Sitio Lambusong to culminate the Feeding Program, which started on January 15, 2024.

The program commenced with an action song led by the Passionist PDO Volunteers, followed by a Doxology, Maral dance, and an opening song performed by our CMIP students.

Ma'am Jingky Pandian, one of the teachers of Notre Dame of Bolul, shared their journey to the feeding program. She discussed the planning phase, taking the BMI of the students before the program started, and the challenges they faced, such as the scarcity of water. They had to fetch water from another sitio and use it for preparing and cooking the food. To address this, teachers and parents agreed that the parents responsible for cooking on a given day would also bring the necessary water. Ma'am Jingky also extended her thanks to our sponsors and benefactors for their unwavering support.

This was followed by messages from Mrs. Mary Jane Awan and Mrs. Lily Quindo, who expressed their deepest gratitude for the feeding program. They shared that it was a significant relief for them as parents struggling to prepare lunch for their children. Since the feeding program started, their children no longer have to walk two hours home for lunch, allowing them to stay at school during lunchtime.

A message of thanks was also given by Ms. Marnie Quindo, one of the students of Notre Dame of Bolul. She reiterated that since the feeding program started, her fellow students no longer worry about their lunch, enabling them to focus more on their lessons and listen well to their teachers. The program has made them more eager to go to school. Fr. Orven, CP, also congratulated all the students, parents, and teachers who worked hand in hand for this program.

Upon reviewing our database and calculating the weight, height, and Body Mass Index (BMI) of the students, we found that 13 students gained weight. Specifically, 9 students gained 2 kg, 3 students gained 3 kg, and 1 student gained 4 kg.

Indeed, it has been a wonderful journey for the teachers, parents, Passionist PDO Team, sponsors, benefactors, and most especially, the students who are the beneficiaries of this program. May we all continue the teachings of Christ in our actions.
