Rain Water Facility (CISTERN) Turnover Ceremony

July 26, was indeed a fruitful day for the people of Sitio Lambusong as they celebrated the Mass of the Holy Spirit and the 30th Patronal Fiesta of GKK Sts. Joachim and Anne, with the theme: “Sta. Anna at San Joaquin: Inspirasyon ng matatag na pananampalataya at pagmamahalan.”

The Eucharistic celebration was presided over by NDBI School Head Rev. Fr. Mark Ian N. Peliño, CP, and concelebrated by Rev. Fr. Orven O. Gonzaga, CP, Rev. Fr. Jeffty M. Mendez, CP, Rev. Fr. Sherwin Jude Detuya, CP, and Rev. Fr. John Dave Eturma, CP.

In addition, today marked the official turnover of six 2000L Rainwater Harvesting Facilities (Cistern Tanks). Sir Mario Magaling, Teacher-in-Charge of NDB-Lam-afus, delivered the welcoming remarks. This was followed by an overview from Fr. Orven Gonzaga, CP, who emphasized that this project was made possible under the leadership of Dr. Gina Nilo, Director of the Bureau of Soils and Water Management (BSWM), through the efforts of Ms. Phines Celebrado, Lay Ambassadress for Education and Scholarship Advocacy - North Region, and with the full cooperation of the Catholic Mission to the Indigenous People (CMIP), led by Mission Director Rev. Fr. Jeffty M. Mendez, CP.

The Department of Agriculture – Bureau of Soils and Water Management (DA-BSWM) was represented by Engr. Excelso L. Liberato Jr., Water Resources Development Officer II from BSWM, Quezon City, accompanied by Engr. Naim Abdulgani, Water Resources Development Officer I from BSWM Region 12 Base, and Sir Evan Roy Landrito, Science Research Specialist I from the BSWM Bukidnon Station.

The turnover was formally accepted by Fr. Jeffty, CP, who also presented the Certificate of Donation to BSWM. Mrs. Marichan D. Malayang, a parent and PTA officer of NDB-Lam-afus, expressed her heartfelt gratitude to everyone who worked hand-in-hand to make this project a reality.

Together, little by little, through the help of God, anything is possible.
